Schoolhouse Series 2010~ Class List!

Are you ready for another year of awesome classes, a great trunk show, food, & a goodie bag filled with products? Then don’t miss our 7th annual Schoolhouse Series on Saturday March 27th at the Perham High School. Cost is $50 and space is limited to the first 150 paid registrants.

This year we are featuring Gudrun Erla of GE Designs!!! She will be teaching in the morning and then presenting a trunk show of quilts after lunch in the auditorium.

Here is a look at this year’s classes:

Quilt As You Go by Gudrun (all sessions): Remember the Braid Runner? Gudrun first introduced us to “Quilt As You Go” with that popular table runner pattern. In this class learn tips from the best as she shows you how to master this time saving technique.

Flower Plant Poke (a hands-on session) by Bonnie from Willlow Wood Market: Make an adorable 3-dimensional plant poke from wool. A unique gift, this class will have you itching for spring.

Needle Felted Framable Photo Mat (a hand-on session) by Bonnie: Learn or practice your needle felting skills as you create a 5″ x 7″ masterpiece that can be framed or turned into a wall hanging.

Wool Education 101  by Bonnie: WoolFelt, wool, hand-dyeds, mill dyed, 100% or blends? What do they all mean, and how do I get started working with it?

Quilter’s Math by Jolene: There are a number of formulas and magic numbers every quilter should know. Have you been stumped by seam allowances or how big to cut a piece of fabric to get the size you need? We’ll answer these questions & more!

Sewing Machine Feet by Jolene: How many of you never change the foot on your machine? Those feet in the accessory box are there for a reason! We’ll review what they are used for & which ones you should have in addition to those that came with the machine.

Precision Sewing With Your Machine by Jolene: Learn tricks and tips to make the most of your machine. We will talk about settings on the machine, threads, needles, & tricks for accurate sewing. A must for any quilter!

Clearly Perfect Angles by Kari Carr of New Leaf Stitches: Sew perfect 45 degree angles without drawing lines or ripping away paper. “CPA” clings to sewing surfaces for convenience & accuracy. Learn techniques & tips for using this popular notion that has been featured in national magazines.

Ah Ha! Easy Mitered Frame Border by Kari: REALLY! Learn our technique to create a perfect mitered border. Bias creates a charming scalloped edge. Featured on magazine covers “Love of Quilting” & France’s “Quilt Country” It’s so amazing you will say “Ah Ha!”

Texture Magic by Teresa: Give a regular piece of fabric some texture with this new product. Very cool & a great waay to add interest to bags, baby quilts, or any project that needs a little magic!
