Spring Quilt Market 2012

We’re back from Kansas City and the 2012 International Quilt Market. We had a great time and we would love to share some of our favorite stops along the way!

We always start Quilt Market with our Hoffman Fabrics sales rep. This year she handed us a bag of Yo Gabba Gabba stuffed animals to go with the fabric here at the shop. We decided to have a little fun with them along the way and you’ll find them throughout all of the photos! Keep your eyes open-

Here’s Muno next to one of our favorite batik groups from Hoffman. And below is my mom, Sarah, next to our favorite new quilt! Look for it this Fall here at the shop.

Right behind us there was quite a commotion because Darth Vader and Chewbacca were in the booth selling their latest fabrics!

Our next stop was Northcott Fabrics where we met with a rep to see the latest and greatest from Stonehenge.

We fell in love with this patriotic fabric and quilt pattern designed by Whirligig Designs. Look for it at the shop later this summer.

Then we were off to Moda where we visit with Sandy Gervais in her adorable booth.

We also signed up to start her new mini quilt of the month program this Fall. We’ll tell you more about it as it gets closer!

We were also blown over by this display of muslin products in the Moda Home booth. We picked up everything including the books, twine, and markers! This was sew inspiring!

Along the way we stopped and chatted with a few our our favorite Minnesota designers! Here’s Gudrun with her latest book:Big Blocks Big Style

And here is Terry Atkinson with the quilts from her new book: Graphic Mixx

We loved Emily’s booth and picked up a bunch of her patterns too!

Lynette Jensen of Thimbleberries had a great display of projects from her new lines including Old World Christmas.

And, Darlene Zimmerman was debuting her latest fabric collection for Robert Kaufman Fabrics, Mother’s Melodies.

When we were talking with our sales rep for American Patchwork & Quilting we discovered that my Storytime Quilt pattern from our 2007 Quilt Sampler issue was reprinted in one of their books. We’ll have it available at the shop soon. Very cool!

We also discovered this adorable collection of quilt patterns from Canadian company Quilt Patch Patterns. I love the Believe quilt!!

When we visit with Bits & Pieces by Joan we found a new book featuring wool items including an adorable wool turkey sampler.

We also met new designer, Ever Kelly, with her new line for Andover that features an adorable panel to make a house with dolls.

We also loved the cute skirts from Izzy & Ivy’s latest book.

We were also excited to find some great new patterns from Kwik Sew.

Our favorite finds of Market were Handbehg Felts-

And of course, the delectable fabrics from Kokka & Echino!

I am quite obsessed with this small lunchbox/suitcase bag. I have to figure out how to make it!

As well as this adorable mouse print!

So now we are back and ready to change things up here at the shop. We can’t wait to move furniture around and make new displays as all of the  merchandise arrives. It will be like Christmas everyday around here for awhile!

Now, I hope you were paying attention to the Yo Gabba Gabba figures. Send me an email with the number you saw and if you are correct I will enter you in a drawing for the chance to win a bundle of fat quarters from Market. Email your guess to katie@baywindowquiltshop.com. Good luck!
