Sew Scrappy- make a “Scrappy Modern Quilt”

I am totally inspired.  Recently I had to design a new quilt pattern for my magazine, A View From Bay Window, and I needed to find something to inspire me.  Then through the back door Joel Dewberry’s latest group of fabrics, Flora, arrived. I love the unique colors in this group, especially when I threw in a couple of prints from Cotton & Steel’s basic line for a little punch.  The end result is what I’m calling “Scrappy Modern”

scrappy modern coverI came up with the title because this quilt pattern is also pre-cut friendly.  You can use up those 10″ squares, 5″ squares, and 2 1/2″ strips that you may have laying around your sewing space!  The possibilities are endless, which is why I’ve included baby, lap, twin, and queen sizes with this pattern.

If you are also inspired head over to our website to purchase the pattern- or you can also sign up for my magazine and receive the pattern that way (it’s the Winter 2015 issue). BayWindowQuiltShop.com

Happy sewing!
